Healthcare: Expensive But Necessary

Healthcare is one of the most talked about subjects today. Suddenly people are more aware of health and health related issues. There is increasing concern about healthcare being very expensive too. In fact, most of the Americans feel that they pay a huge sum of money towards the filed of Healthcare alone.

The fact is that the Americans are at a high risk of having various illnesses due to their sedentary work styles. Most of the times, we would see that they avoid any kind of physical activity, so their body gets no exercise. Adding to this is their eating habits which make them obese and more susceptible to get heart diseases. Further, the stress levels have increased today. The constant exposure to this kind of atmosphere is bound to take a toll on your health sooner or later.

The life expectancy in US is much lesser than the life expectancy of people in the other parts of the world. A combination of factors has contributed to this situation. People incessantly smoking, drinking etc will all eventually have health issues. Hence the people of US are is dire need of Healthcare schemes. While the working class is secure since their medical insurance will cover their healthcare costs, it is so only in situations where one is hospitalized or critically ill. Also, the entire medical cost is not covered; they will have to shell out some money from their end too for the treatment.

We see an increased demand for the field of healthcare. Also, advent if new illnesses are adding to the costs. More often than not, the vaccines and medicines are too expensive for the common man. Knowing that they are helpless in this situation, a number of people are shifting their focus from blaming the healthcare system to modifying their lifestyle. They are trying to change their eating habits and bring in a regular exercise regime into practice.

This is a smart move, because no matter how expensive and precise the healthcare system may be, there are bound to be shortcomings and errors at some point or other. In spite of the availability of the best of the medical facilities, we see people succumb to various illnesses. This goes on to prove that the healthcare system can help a human only to a certain extent. Hence it is the responsibility of each of us to take charge of our lives and be more fit and healthy.
