Health Insurance Is Very Necessary

By Celia Richard

In many parts of the world today there are conversations going on about health insurance. High prices in the health care industry have made it very expensive to be without health coverage.

To go to a family doctors office for a regular office visit you could end up paying anywhere from forty five dollars up to and possibly exceeding one hundred dollars. The costs are outrageous for someone without health insurance.

When a health insurance company agrees to add a specific doctor to their list of providers, they also make an agreement with the doctor to get a reduced price or discount for their services. For patients that are paying for their own office visit without the aid of an insurance policy, the doctors can charge the full rate.

Some people have medical conditions that require them to follow up on a regular basis with a doctor that specializes in treating their particular type of medical condition. The office visits and treatments for these types of doctors tend to be very high when compared to a family doctor.

Cheap health insurance is available and in most cases you can get it without a health questionnaire. If you are unemployed you can purchase your own health coverage at a low and reasonable price.

Anyone who has children can tell you how expensive it is to raise them. When the children are first born and for the first couple years of their lives you will be visiting your pediatrician's office at least one time every few months. The immunizations provided in these well child visits are very necessary.

Then when they become school age you have to start doing physical check ups yearly. During the checkups they check the child's eye sight and hearing and give a total physical exam.

Once they get playing sports and such you then have to take them to get sports physicals. Even once they have left home or are in college it is important to have student insurance.

Be sure to check the deductible amount on the policy before you make the purchase. Many companies that provide cheap insurance also assign a very high deductible. This should definitely be a factor in the coverage that you chose.

A deductible is an amount that must be paid out of pocket before the insurance will begin to cover any expenses. If you do not go to the doctor much, it may be cheaper just to pay the occasional office fees than to pay the monthly premiums.

Even with a high deductible, if you have medical conditions that require you to visit specialist or have high priced treatments, the plan may still be beneficial to you. It is also good if an unforeseen health issue arises and you have to spend some time in the hospital.

Only one night in the hospital can cost well over a thousand dollars. With medical coverage you would have to pay the deductible but in most cases the bill for a hospital visit will be much higher than your scheduled deductible amount.

To give your family and you some peace of mind, consider purchasing a health insurance policy. If you are in need of student insurance or just want to find cheap health insurance, you can definitely find a policy that is right for you.
