By Simon Normski

Given below are some suggestions which will help you save money for the motor insurance that you want to purchase.

Firstly, bear in mind that the car that you are driving plays a vital role in determining the insurance rate for your vehicle. Like, a sports car will attract higher amount since they are more prone to accidents than other cars. Also, most insurance companies have a list of cars that are more prone to theft and if your car falls in that list, the insurance rate will obviously be higher for your car. Try avoiding buying such cars for getting a cheap car insurance online.

Still, a ray of light lies here as you can get yourself an anti-theft system that works very well and is widely popular these days for all kinds of motor cars. This greatly reduces the chances of the car being stolen; due to less risk to the insurance company, you will get lower insurance rate.

Without insurance, this is something you would have to take care of yourself. It just makes sense to have insurance, even if it is the lowest possible form of insurance such as third party only, which covers any injury and damage that may occur to the other person.

If your current car insurance policy does not provide coverage for travel abroad, you could be in for some real trouble. For example, if you were to travel to France and get into an accident, you could be looking at charges somewhere around 1,500. In Denmark or Sweden, if you get into an accident you could be looking at charges of more than 5,000. That is a lot of money and if your car insurance does not cover travel in your vehicle to these areas, this is money you must pay for out of your own pocket.

Student Loans -- Money for College

By Hunter Fisher

There used to be a time when all that a student had to worry about was getting into the best college possible to realize his dreams. These days, however, the issue of financing a college education weighs heavily on a student's mind. It is important for a student to thoroughly look at financial aid options so that he may get the best deal he can and not accumulate so much debt upon graduating.

If you are looking into getting a loan to help finance your college education, here are some pointers that you need to keep in mind.

Do Your Homework

When evaluating student financial aid, it is vital to get a thorough understanding of the issues associated with borrowing money for college. Most colleges and universities will usually provide you with a list of lending agencies that they recommend. Although this is convenient for you as some of the leg work seems to have already been done, it is best to look at other options not detailed in those lists. Many educational institutions allow funding from external sources and usually, all that is required is that you coordinate with the college so that they may seamlessly incorporate the loan into their programs.

Get detailed information

Student loan application probably belongs to the most complex processes that an individual can experience. Be proactive and look for information. It is good to know more so that you don't get lost in the tide of information. Do not hesitate to ask questions or clarifications if there's something that isn't clear to you.

It is advisable to personally visit the financial institution you want to deal with. This way you can talk directly to a knowledgeable person who can help you understand the procedure and possible options for your needs. It is also good to talk to a person who already went through the process of student aid. People close to you will typically point you towards the most appropriate deals. They can also give you tips and strategies concerning interest rates, payment options, etc.

Familiarize Yourself with the Terminology

Student loan solicitations are filled with special terms. Finding a way of getting into and staying in college won't be enough in the long run. You also have to go through all the information that isn't defined in the easiest terms.

Don't forget to inquire about activation fees or origination charges. The origination charge is the application fee charged to the borrower. Some lenders don't charge this fee so that they can attract more borrowers. Ensure that the contract doesn't state that you'll have to settle the fee in the instance that you choose to terminate your loan and switch to another lending company.

You should also prioritize repayment programs. There are many repayment options available. This depends on your needs and the loan program you select. Repayment timelines can range from as little as 5 to as long as 30 years.

Several money-lenders offer rewards such as money-backs or discounts for being punctual or for paying in advance. Talk these concerns over with the loaning companies as these things may prove crucial if you plan to save money.

Forex Trading and You

By Roger Makeman

Oil, Gold and the foreign exchange are three different markets that are reliant on each other. If you want to learn about Forex trading, knowing what one does relative to another may give you an insight where the other markets may be heading. It would be useful to become familiar with those different markets as a trader and have some Forex education.

Let's have a look at those intertwined markets and how they are all connected.

There is an inverse correlation for markets such as gold or oil that are priced in U.S. dollars in the commodities markets. When the U.S. dollar declines, not only do foreign currencies go up, but gold prices also increase. Studies have shown a negative correlation between gold and the dollar that is, they almost never move in together, but almost always move in opposite directions.

The value of EUR/USD versus gold prices, on the other hand, shows a very high positive correlation, this means that the value of the euro and gold prices often go hand-in-hand, suggesting these markets are both better off when funds are flowing away from the U.S. dollar.

Gold prices may be considered as an important component in the analysis of the forex market. A trend change in gold price may give a good indication to where the US dollar may be heading in the foreign exchange market.

A rise in crude prices directly relates to a weakness in the American. Foreign oil producers view the increase in oil prices as a way to maintain their purchasing power in U.S. dollar terms. Forex brokers will tell you to counter the impact of higher oil prices a weaker dollar could ultimately give rise to inflation.

Oil is a key commodity causing global economic growth, and oil prices and the foreign exchange have a key relationship in the global economy.

Now lets have a look at the impact an increase in oil prices may have on the different major currencies around the world.

Japan: Economy suffers as it relies on imports for most of its energy needs, therefore the Yen weakens.

UK: Benefit the economy as UK produces oil. British pound strengthens.

Oil in world business has a heavy impact on the Forex market. Thus any disturbance in supply is likely to affect the foreign exchange market.

Some of these factors may be terrorist attacks, natural disasters and wars. In such circumstances a shift from the dollar to the euro as the designated currency in crude oil could occur thus causing an immediate decline in the value of the U.S. dollar.

Gold and oil are not the only commodities affected by changes in forex values. Exports of agricultural commodities account for a large share of U.S. domestic income.

When the value of the dollar rises, it tends to limit buying interest from an importing nation as the commodity becomes less affordable in terms of that nation's domestic currency.

When the value of the dollar declines, it reduces the price to an importing nation in terms of its currency and encourages it to buy more U.S. agricultural products. The influence that one market has on another market naturally shifts over time so these relationships are not static but should be the subject of ongoing study.

You as a Forex trader should be aware of the influence that those different markets have on the Forex. Though the changes may not happen quickly, it may however tip you off on any possible trend changes in the near future. Happy trading !

Where To Look For Cheap Auto Insurance

By Joseph Welusz

It is possible to save hundreds of dollars each year by locating cheap auto insurance. Most people do not change auto insurance providers because of the hassle associated with changing over. It is more convenient for them to stay with the same insurance they have always had. There are really four things you can do to find cheap auto insurance. You can reduce your coverage on older cars, check for discounts, shop around and compare different insurance providers or have a higher insurance deductible.

The only way to determine what the lowest prices are for auto insurance is to shop around and request quotes from many different auto insurance companies. It is important that you compare all of the items that are included in the auto insurance. Just because it is inexpensive does not mean you should purchase bad auto insurance.

Make sure you understand how to make claims, how quickly claims are processed and when you can expect payment. You can find cheap auto insurance that is good auto insurance. No matter how inexpensive it is you do not want to pay for bad insurance or insurance that is basically like having no insurance.

If you don't want to change auto insurers then you can look for discounts. Many auto insurance companies will offer discounts for low mileage drivers or cars that have extra anti-theft protection and safety features. You may be able to decrease your insurance by installing an alarm. Good drivers will also automatically get lower insurance because they have a good driving history. If you do have some strike against your driving record you can decrease them by taking a defensive driving course.

A higher deductible can also decrease your auto insurance by as much as $1000 per year depending on how much you increase it. Many drivers have a low deductible as they do not want to have to pay a lot out of pocket should something happen to their car. However if you rarely ever have a problem then having a higher deductible will save you a lot of money over the years.

Older cars may not need to have complete coverage, as the cost of the coverage may actually be more then the value of the car. You will need to compare how much you are spending on auto insurance to the market value of the car. It your insurance is more then the value of the car you should look to eliminating your collision or comprehensive coverage. You can even get rid of both.

Watch For These 10 Life Insurance Myths

By Wink Smithston

Life insurance can be as complicated as you want to make it. As simple as term life policies are there are many elements to be considered carefully in order to arrive at the correct type and benefit in Akron Ohio . It is the technical aspects of life insurance that most people can deal with rather than trying to get a handle on how much coverage they need and why.

What you will read will briefly take a look the some of the most common myths pertaining to life insurance and the truths that they sometimes distort.

Myth No.1: I'm single and don't have any dependents, therefore I don't need any coverage. Even a single person needs at least enough life insurance to cover the costs of personal debts, medical and funeral bills. If you are uninsured, you may leave a legacy of unpaid expenses for your family or executor to deal with. Plus, this can be a good way for low-income singles to leave a legacy to a favorite charity or other cause.

Second Myth: I only need an amount of life insurance coverage equal to twice the amount of my annual salary. That depends. You need an amount of life insurance equal to the amount that is needed based on your families needs. In addition to obvious bills and expenses, you may need to pay off larger debts such as the mortgage and provide an income for a number of years, in Akron Ohio. A cash flow analysis is usually helpful in order to determine the actual amount of insurance that must be bought - the days of simply computing life coverage based only on one's income-earning ability is long gone.

Myth No.3: My term life insurance coverage at work is sufficient. Maybe it is or maybe it is not. For a single person of modest means, employer-paid or provided term coverage may well be enough. But if you have a spouse or other dependents, or know that you will need coverage upon your death to pay estate taxes or create an estate for charity, then additional coverage may be necessary if the term policy does not meet the needs of the policyholder.

Myth No.4: At least the cost of my premiums will be deductible. Not in most cases. The cost of personal life insurance is never deductible unless the policyholder is self-employed in Akron Oh and the coverage is used to insure the business. Then the premiums are deductible on the Schedule C of the Form 1040.

Myth No.5: I absolutely MUST have life insurance at any cost. In many cases, this is probably true. However, persons with no debt or dependents and sizable assets may be better off self-insuring. If you have no debt and medical and funeral costs are covered, and then life insurance coverage may be optional.

Sixth Myth: I am always better off buying term and investing the difference. Not always. The cost of term life coverage can become very expensive in the later years, so those who know for certain that they must have coverage until death, should consider permanent coverage. The overall premium outlay for a more expensive permanent policy may be less than the rising premiums that could last for years longer with a less expensive term policy.

There is also the chance of being uninsurable, which could be disastrous for those who may have estate tax issues will use life insurance to pay them. But this risk can be eliminated with permanent coverage, which can become paid up after a certain amount of premiums have been paid and then remains in force the rest of your life.

Seventh Myth: Straight universal life policies, in Akron Ohio are always inferior to variable universal life policies. Many universal policies pay competitive interest rates, and variable universal life (VUL) policies contain several layers of fees relating to both the insurance and securities elements present in the policy. Therefore, if the variable sub accounts within the policy under perform, and then the variable policyholder may well see a lower cash value compared to someone with straight universal life policies

Sub par market performance can also generate substantial cash calls inside variable policies that require additional premiums to be paid in order to keep the life insurance portion of the policy in force.

Eighth Myth: Only the one making the money needs life insurance coverage. This is pure nonsense. The cost to replace the responsibilities that were provided by a deceased homemaker can be higher than you think; the costs for cleaning and daycare are higher than you think.

Ninth Myth: You should always add the return of premium (ROP) benefit in Akron Ohio. There are several different levels of ROP riders available for policies that offer this feature. Some financial advisors will tell you that this rider is not cost-effective and should be avoided. Whether you include this rider will depend on your risk tolerance and other possible investment objectives.

A cash flow analysis will reveal whether you could come out ahead by investing the additional premium amount, of the rider elsewhere, instead of putting it into the policy. Riders are available to provide additional benefits that help you customize your policy.

Tenth Myth: I will be better off investing my money than buying life insurance of any kind. Complete nonsense. Until you reach the breakeven point of asset accumulation, you need life coverage of some sort, barring the exception discussed in fifth myth. Once you amass $1 million of liquid assets, you can consider whether to discontinue, or at least reduce, your million-dollar policy. But you take a big chance when you depend solely on your investments in the early years of your life, especially if you have dependents. If you die without coverage for them, there may be no other means to provide for them after the use of your saved assets.

In conclusion, these are just some of the more common mistruths concerning life insurance. The key idea to understand is that you eliminate life insurance out of your budget unless you have sufficient assets to cover expenses, several years after you've passed away.

Transaction Funding For Short Sale Investors

By Scott Randolph

What exactly is short sale transaction funding and is it something you could take advantage of right now? As times in the real estate market change more people are becoming interested in this aspect of the business. This type of funding is usually used by investors (experienced and new) who want to purchase real estate outright for a discounted rate and the flip it for a profit.

Flipping real estate has become a glamorized process through television shows and media reports that show wealthy investors flipping houses and making a ton of money. In real life, it isn't so glamorous but can be quite profitable if you know how to do it.

A short sale occurs when a homeowner, lender, and investor come to an agreement to sell a house for less than is actually owed on a loan. This is usually done because the homeowner is unable to pay the house payments and everyone wants to avoid the troubles of going through the foreclosure process.

Usually, an investor will offer to pay a nice amount of money upfront so that the bank recoups some of its money and the homeowner is off the hook and avoids foreclosure. Everyone is short changed a little, but the investor walks away with a great deal.

In order to secure that great deal, most investors will have to find some quick funding to support their obligation to pay for the property outright. They will sell the property for a higher price and come out of it with a profit.

Not too many years ago it was rather difficult to find out about private lenders and take advantage of these deals, but short sale transaction funding can now be found quite readily online. Lenders of all sorts are stepping into the market to make their own profits and are now open to a wider array of people. This means you could possibly enter this business or just get a great price on a foreclosure home for your own family right now.

Candlestick Charts For Currency Traders

By Tom OReilly

Among the many types of technical analysis available to forex traders, the single most useful and popular are probably candlestick charts. These were originally developed in Japan during the 18th century by a prominent commodity trader who used them to chart the fluctuations in the price of rice. For this reason they are often known as Japanese candlestick charts, and many of the patterns that they form have Japanese names.

Simple line graphs plotting the price of a commodity at regular intervals in time had been used for centuries, but traders were in need of something that could plot more variables within a two dimensional graph. The bar chart showing the opening, high, low and closing prices of a commodity was useful and helped traders to predict future price movements in a more reliable way than line charts, but candlestick charts were even better.

Charles Dow, founder of the Wall Street Journal and co-founder of the Dow Jones company, introduced them to the American Stock Market at the beginning of the 20th. century. From there they were adapted by the worldwide financial markets.

Candlestick Formation

The chart is made up of a series of 'candlesticks' which typically have a chunky body with vertical lines stretching up from the top (the upper shadow or wick) and bottom (the lower shadow or wick). The different points measure the differential in prices over a certain period of time, which might be 5 minutes, 15 minutes or longer.

The top of the wick is the highest point reached during the time period and the lowest point of the lower wick is the low. The top and bottom of the body are the opening and closing prices. If price rose during the period the body will be white (or green or blue if colored). The bottom of the body marks the opening price and its top marks the close. If the price fell during the period the prices are the other way around and to show this at a glance the body will be black (or red if colored).

Using Candlesticks in Charts In Currency Trading

A forex trader can base a system for determining when a trend is developing on the many patterns that develop on the charts showing 5 or 15 minute candles over a period of several hours. For example, when the candle body is green or white and higher than the preceding candles, it indicates that buyers are very bullish. When it is red or black and lower than the preceding candles, it indicates that buyers are very bearish.

Candlestick charts are one of the most useful visual aids for any fx trader. Being able to see implications at a glance is vital in the fast moving currency markets where trading decisions often need to be made in a split second.

Specialize In Trading US Dollar (Part I)

By Ahmad Hassam

You want to become a currency trader. The most important question that you will ask is which currency pairs are the best for trading? You should focus on the four major currency pairs EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/CHF and USD/JPY in the beginning. You should consider becoming a specialist in US Dollar. Yes, its true; you should become a specialist in understanding and trading the greenback.

Each currency pair actually comprises two currencies. So if you are long in GBP/USD then you are in fact buying the GBP and selling the USD. In each of the major currency pairs, USD is part of the equation.

This means that you should study and understand the fundamentals of US Dollar, the US economy and the workings of the Federal Reserve System (FED). Then you have done your homework needed to trade any one of the four major currency pairs as all of them depend on USD.

These four major currency pairs are the most liquid pairs and involve the vast majority of the trading in the currency markets. You should think like this, majors are the most heavily traded pairs and US Dollar is half of each major pair. If I can understand what drives the USD, it will have a huge impact on my trading profits.

The only thing you need to determine is your bias for USD. What do you think; USD will weaken or strengthen in the near and medium term. Then apply that bias to the major currency pairs.

Just to remind you, suppose you buy a currency pair. You are buying the first currency and selling the second currency in the pair! Suppose your form a bias that USD is going to strengthen. With this bias, you can go long on USD/CHF and USD/JPY. Similarly, you can go short on GBP/USD and EUR/USD.

With one bias, you have the potential of entering into four possible trades. However, each currency pair will react differently to US Dollar strengthening or weakening. Suppose Euro is also strengthening. Both Euro and US Dollar are strengthening at the same time. The currency pair EUR/USD will move less. USD/JPY will move more if JPY is weakening and USD is strengthening.

Lets say you can only afford to place one mini lot trade. You have a bearish bias for USD. What pair you should trade? You can consider going long on either GBP/USD or EUR/USD. But which one!

Take a look at both GBP and the Euro. Try to find which of the two currencies is stronger right now. Trade the stronger currency. Take a look at the cross EUR/GBP. If it is down, it means EUR is weakening and GBP is strengthening. Trade GBP/USD!

You should always include an evaluation of the currency correlations for the major currency pairs in every trading plan that you create. The correlations between the currency pairs are dynamic and can change any time. So you need to calculate the correlations at least on weekly basis to give you a fair idea. Correlation is determined by what is known as the correlation coefficient. Correlation coefficient always ranges between +1 and -1.

Mortgage Insurance In BC: What Is Used to Price Mortgage Insurance Premiums?

By Michael M. Callender

How much you pay for your mortgage insurance premiums will hinge largely on three factors. If you compare a similar policy, you may get different premiums, based on the size of the loan, and the condition of the owner (age, smoker or non smoker).

Both kinds of mortgage insurance-life to pay off the mortgage, or disability to continue mortgage payments-use these three things to determine the premium.

The age and health of the insured is of the utmost importance to the insurance company, since that will determine for its actuaries what the chances of paying out are. Many mortgage life and disability policies do not require a physical, merely a statement of health condition. It is very risky to claim good health without it, however, because the insurance company can deny any claim if it arises from a condition that they can prove to be known to you at the time the policy was issued. Many smokers think they can hide this fact and keep the premium lower, and believe the insurance companies won't know. They will know, and if you have made incorrect statements on the application, you can jeopardize the entire policy.

Recognizing this limitation, many companies now offer Regular (for smokers) and Non-tobacco, which is for applicants who do not currently use tobacco or have not used it within the prior twelve months period. Needless to say, this increased risk is built into the various premiums.

Needless to say, if a policy is going to cover anyone without looking at his physical health, there is a built in premium increase for that. Anyone who has exceptional health should think about getting a physical examination, since the premiums will be much lower.

Age is a big piece of the way premiums are calculated, and if you compared a quote for a 38 year old, same size loan, same length left on the mortgage, it would be less than half that of a 50 year old. Reducing the principal on the mortgage adjusts the premium by mere dollars, so it is easy to see that the actuarial tables are what drives this calculation. None of this is surprising, since the insurance business is based on increasing the collection of premiums and delaying paying of policies.

The amount of the mortgage willhave an impact on the cost of the policy. Up to about $250,000, the amount insured will not change the premium a great deal and will most likely fall within the quick quote easy application classes. Larger mortgages command a higher premium and the insurance company will also require an assessment to prove the value of the property.

The Fundamentals of Forex Trading

By John Eather

Day-after-day, much more than 2 trillion dollars is traded in the Foreign Exchange market. Without doubt the biggest trading in the globe. Forex is open 24/5, including public vacations. The world financial centres start out trading in Sydney, and then to Tokyo, and lastly London and New York.

There are always active buyers and sellers at any given time anywhere in the world. This allows the FX market the most fluidity the world has ever had or known. Currency in the Forex market is traded only in pairs, for example, EUR/USD, GBP/USD or UDS/JPY. All trades coinside with the selling of one and the purchase of another. The basis for the buy or sell is the base currency. Consider the currency as an object to be bought or sold and the first of the pair is the base currency.

The U.S. dollar includeing the USD/JPY, USD/CHF and USD/CAD is the chief currency of the FX marketplace and as a whole the base for quotes is . Exclusions do exist and they are the EUR/USD and GBP/USD. These and many other currencies quotes are shown in units of $1 USD per the other half of the currency pair. E.g., a quote of USD/CAD. 1.1302 means that 1 US is equal to 1.130 Canadian dollars. You will oftentimes come across when trading Forex, a double-sided quote. It'll comprise of a bid' and ask' price quote. Bid' is the selling price of the base currency while buying the other currency at the same time, The purchase price of base currency is the 'Ask' price, while simultaneously selling from broker the other currency.

The Forex broker's charge is the the spread, which is difference between the bid' and ask' prices. An absolute majority of brokers have established commission-free trading, instead profiting from the spread in the trade. Broadly speaking, there is commonly a spread of 3 - 5 pips on leading currency pairs. Rollovers is the process by which the closing of a deal is rolled to another value date. The price is decided on the differential rate of the currency pairs. Just about all brokers will roll your open positions hence granting the position to be continually held over.

Trading on the margin or leverage and trading this in reality permits Forex brokers the advantage of not bearing the full payout on the complete cost of the positions value. Forex trading brokers, at any rate nearly all of them, provide more leverage than futures or stocks. The total amount of leverage access in Forex trading could be up to 500 times higher in value of your forex trading account. In Forex trading the leverage availableness is amongst the first worries of numerous traders of Forex.

Take advantage of the leverage for brokers allow for greater, a good deal greater profits and because this can occasionally be a double edge sword and they are also able to incur very big losses. Nevertheless, with a deliberate, affordable and well prepared plan and tenaciousness this might not be a matter at all. A decently assembled investment strategy will assist you in your successful trading. I'll give you an important word of caution. The same as gambling, you had better not ever invest more than you are able to easily afford to lose and when you do turn a profit, start utilising the profit for investment. Get on the internet and open a demo account, practice for fun and once you're ready to trade for real, then good luck.

Paperless Parent Teacher Organizations

By Michael Kerin

Does this sound familiar: you attend a parent teacher group meeting where it is decided that the organization will become paperless. It should be simple to send out emails instead of paper flyers. The group will also launch a website so that families can download the flyers. This means you will no longer have to spend money on printing. The savings will be great.

The idea is implemented, your families compliment you on the progressive approach to running your PTO, and then it dawns on youthe paper is still piling up in your mailbox. You say to yourself, Were not sending out paper, but were still collecting loads of paper. Were only half paperless!

Where does the PTO go from here to become truly paperless?

They have taken the first step by producing electronic documents. However, their workload has not changed as the sorting, tallying and filing has not yet been eliminated.

How does a PTO become truly paperless?

Launching the website is the first step. Eliminating the sorting, tallying and filing of paper is the second. This can be accomplished by adding pages to the website that will enable the families to provide the information needed. The website will also be able to present the information to the PTO board as they need it. This can be in the form of a report or spreadsheet.

Here is an example: new families can be directed to pages on the website where they can enter their name, address and contact information. Once the details are provided, they simply click on the save button and the website records it and then presents it to the board members as they need it.

Did you see how this simple scenario has eliminated many hours of work for your PTO volunteers? Your families key the information into the website. Your website compiles and displays the information of all families with the simple click of a button. With this, your volunteers and your PTO have benefited from the elimination of hours of sorting, collating and filing. And your PTO is on the path to being truly paperless.

Youre probably thinking that it sounds great but must be expensive. The truth is, that it is now very affordable. The Paperless PTO is one web hosting provider that offers a unique solution. They have designed a website template that is catered exclusively to parent teacher organizations. The program will guide PTOs, PTAs and all other parent teacher groups on how to be truly paperless. And they will do it at the pace you are comfortable with. Their program even offers a fundraising feature built into it that will generate recurring income for your PTO. Volunteering is certainly a thankless job. Wouldnt you want to make it easier as well as rewarding?

3 Different Things That You Need to Examine before Choosing a Forex Trading Platform

By Alex Miller

If there is one thing that many of us have learned from trading over the years it is that it helps to be diversified in the proper direction. Because of the corrections that have taken place within the market over the past year or so, some of us are reeling and wondering how we are going to build back our portfolio again. One thing that many people are turning to now is the Forex market, simply because it is able to build back money whenever the commodities market fails.

You need to understand, however, that you cannot trade directly on the Forex market. In order for you to do so, you need to have a qualified broker that is going to place the trades for you on to the market. Calling one of these brokers on the telephone is still possible although very few are taking calls any longer. More than likely, you are going to need to use an Internet platform which gives you access to the broker and allows you to trade in real time.

Although we might consider trading on Forex to be a simple thing, there are a few things that need to be kept in mind when doing so. Since we test these various platforms, we have come up with a system of testing them which allows us to narrow it down to just a few things. By testing these Forex platforms using the same criteria as we do, it can make it easy for you to make a good decision quickly.

One of the first things that you always need to look for whenever it comes to the platform that you are choosing is whether it caters to beginners or experienced individuals. Most of the platforms do a fairly good job of balancing this out but some of them come out heavy in one direction or the other. As a beginner, you would want those tutorials and advanced tools so that the platform can grow with you as you gain knowledge. Advanced users will want to make sure that it has everything that is necessary for them to trade successfully.

Another criteria that we always feel is important is customer service. Although it would certainly be nice if nothing ever went wrong, that is rarely ever going to be the case. From time to time, it may be necessary for you to contact customer service and you want to make sure that you have plenty of options open to you. Make sure that they offer you e-mail, online chat as well as toll-free phone numbers so that you can contact them directly.

Finally, you might be interested in seeing if they offer other types of trading, such as gold or other precious metals. Oil trading is also something that is offered by many of the more popular Forex platforms. This can truly help you to diversify while not jumping from broker to broker in order to do so.

Although it may take a little bit of research on your part, you want to make sure that you choose the platform that is going to fit best for you from the very start. Not only should fit now, it should also be able to grow with you into the future so that you do not need to switch to a different platform at that time. Forex is an excellent way for you to make money and to grow your portfolio again, make sure you have a platform that will help you along the way.

Should One Consider Debt Consolidation?

By Amy Nutt

For people facing substantial debt, credit consolidation may be the best solution. This gives the debtor the ability to manage unmanageable debts by combining multiple monthly payments into one payment that fits better into their budget. Consumers who are carrying a high debt load and struggling to make their monthly payments on credit cards and other unsecured debts may benefit from credit consolidation.

Start by Talking to a Debt Counsellor

Before considering debt consolidation you should contact a debt counsellor to discuss your financial options. Debt consolidation is not a one-size-fits-all solution. There are many ways to approach and manage debt to get the best results for your individual situation, and a debt counsellor can help you think through these options. You shouldn't join a debt consolidation program without talking to a debt counsellor first.

Consider a Debt Management Program

One possible low cost option is entering a debt management program through a non-profit credit counselling organization. When you enrol, a professionally trained credit counsellor will contact your creditors, on your behalf, to negotiate a lower interest rate and reduce your minimum payments to something you can afford. Then, to alleviate any further stress, the credit counselling organization will combine all of your payments into one easy monthly payment, which you will send to them and they will send to your creditors. Some debt management programs even offer auto draft, which makes debt repayment hassle free.

With a debt management program, you will be paying less interest, which means more of your monthly payment will go towards the principal. This allows you to get out of debt much faster than if you were trying to do it on your own. Because of this, many of these debt management programs will advertise that they will save you thousands. They are not actually lowering the amount you owe, but they are lowering what you will pay by negotiating a lower interest rate for you.

Keep in mind that these services are not free. The company handling your debt has a staff to pay and offices to maintain, so they will charge a fee to cover these needs. The fee varies from company to company, so be sure to inquire about the cost before you apply for the program.

Debt Consolidation Loans

Another option to deal with unmanageable debt is to take out a debt consolidation loan, use it to pay off the total sum of all outstanding debts at once, and then just repay the loan monthly. Often the monthly payment on a debt consolidation loan is less than the combined monthly payments on your existing debts, which can make your debt more manageable. Keep in mind that you will be responsible for paying any service fees and interest, which may range from 5 to 18% of the loan itself depending on your circumstances and credit score.

Many debt consolidation loans require you to use some form of collateral, such as a house or car, to secure the loan, particularly if your credit score is low. This can be a great solution if you want to eliminate calls from creditors and improve your credit history quickly, but if you miss any payments you could be putting your home or car at risk. Also, if you add to your debt after taking out the debt consolidation loan, you will be face even more difficult money problems. The only way a debt consolidation loan will help is if you can stop adding to your debt.

If you are having problems managing your bills and debts each month, you will probably save money be enrolling in a credit consolidation program or taking out a debt consolidation loan. Many communities have low cost options to help you manage your budget more effectively in order to increase your financial stability and eliminate creditors' harassing calls and letters while establishing a healthier credit history.

How To Buy Your First Home

By Carter Phoenix

Have you decided to purchase your first home? It's a very exciting time and can be a tad bit confusing because there are so many things to consider. Preparing yourself with the information that will make the process as smooth as possible is the important first step. Truth be told, if you're a first time home buyer, it can be very confusing to figure out which aspect of it to tackle first.

First time home buyers tend to buy a home simply based upon emotion because they have fallen in love with the way it looks, its layout and the neighborhood that it's in. It's important to leave emotion out of the equation as it clouds judgment and complicates the decision making process. Sure, appearance and location are important as well but there are plenty more things to consider before you make your final choice. Here are a some good tips to help you get started.

First you need to know how much you can spend. These days and due to the current state of the economy, very few people can actually afford buying a home outright unless they have inherited a huge sum of money, this can be quite impossible. You are probably going to need to obtain a mortgage in order to buy your home. It sounds a little daunting but if you choose the right people to borrow from and get your finances straight, it should be no problem at all.

A few facts about mortgages are in order. The amount that your mortgage lender would be willing to lend you totally depends upon your current income, the debts that you have, as well as your savings, how long you have been at the same job and your credit history. Getting pre-approved for a specific loan amount will hasten your buying experience. Doing things that way would make it easier for you to find homes within your price range and avoid spending too much.

The next step is to start the process of searching for a suitable home. Real estate agents are invaluable professional to have on your side for the single largest transaction of your life. Take your time and interview a few different agents to find one that you are comfortable with. You can also use the internet to search for homes without even leaving the comfort of your own home. All of these would provide you with enough options when it comes to houses within your price range.

After you've found a home that fits your budget perfectly as well as your aesthetic preferences, it's now time to make an offer on said house. Your solicitor can do this for you, however if you're buying a house directly from the owner then this would allow you to make an informal offer to your seller.

So you and your seller have reached an agreement, now it's time to get things on paper, which means getting an official deed of sale. This would state just how much you'll have to pay to buy the house, all the things included in the sale (such as furnishings, outbuildings etc.) and the date when you can move in.

With all that over and done with, all that's really left to do is move in. Buying your first home is daunting and there's no doubt about that. But you needn't be scared because as long as you know and understand everything that comes with buying a home, everything would be just fine. Happy house hunting!

House Improvements That Can Sell Your Home

By John Thomas Miller

The recent home sale slump means that a lot of people are having a hard time trying to sell their house right now. It's a buyer's market when it comes to house sales right now, which means home prices are low and there are lots of homes that are currently being sold. Today's lower prices means that a lot of house sellers aren't getting as much money as they'd like out of the sale of their current home and it means they don't have as much to spend on a new dwelling.

As a house seller you are basically competing against the other house sellers in your area for the money from a small group of home buyers. One way to make your home more likely to be sold is to spruce it up with some modern home improvements. In order to sell your house you're going to have to get inventive and try to set your house apart from the others that are being sold near your own house.

Of course, if you're trying to sell your house you may not have a lot of money to put towards various home improvements. The best way to bring a lot of potential buyers into your home is to take out a loan for some minor home improvements knowing that you will most likely make a profit when you actually sell your home. If you are relatively handy you might want to use some borrowed money and do your own home improvements. Home improvement loans can range from a couple hundred dollars to thousands of dollars, and different financing amounts will give you the ability to commit to different kinds of projects. Here are a few house improvement suggestions in various cost ranges:

$1,000 - $6,000: Minor home improvement projects in this range can sometimes be financed with home improvement store credit cards or person loans. Home projects in this range include fixing up interior rooms with new paint, installing new crown molding and maybe even replacing some kitchen appliances. Projects in this lower price range should be aimed at updating a fairly new home that doesn't need much work.

For $9,000 - $12,000: If you're going to take out a loan for home improvement projects in this range you may want to look at a home equity line of credit. Major home upgrade projects like this could include putting in some new carpet, having a front yard professional landscaped or installing new windows. Committing to home renovations in this range will most certainly get the attention of potential home buyers, especially if the other homes in your neighborhood don't include some of these updates.

It's important to adjust your home's selling price to reflect the recent improvements. Your selling price should be raised but should probably not be designed to cover the entire cost of your home improvement loan. Most home improvements do not actually recuperate all the money you put into them when you sell your home. Certain house updates like the ones mentioned above will, however, help sell your home.

Declaring Dividends

By Samatha Ferguson

Dividends are payments from shares, unit and investment trusts, which, investors hope, are not only regular (usually twice a year) but also rise over time to reflect the companys (or trusts) growing fortunes. Dividends are taxable as income.

The good news is tax on UK share dividends is deducted before you get it. If you are a basic rate taxpayer, you dont have to do anything else. Nontaxpayers and ten per cent taxpayers dont need to do anything either. But theres bad news here: You cant reclaim the deducted tax under any circumstances. Even though its called a tax credit by HMRC, we refer to it as a deduction to save confusion.

Top-rate taxpayers have to declare dividends on their self-assessment form and have the cash ready to pay the gap between the 40 per cent rate and the tax deducted.

Whether you get income from unit trusts, investment trusts, or individual shares, look at the date the dividend was declared and ignore the period for which the dividend applied. A 10p a share dividend for the year ending 31 December 2006 declared on 1 May 2007 and paid on 1 June 2007 counts as part of your 2007 " 08 return, not the 2006"07 calculation.

If you invest for long-term growth in shares that pay low or no dividends, youll pay less income tax. But dont forget these shares tend to be riskier. And you can get hit for capital gains tax on your profits.

Dont forget if you are near the top of the basic rate ladder " earning around $36,000 a year " your dividends can push you into the top tax bracket. For instance, if you earn $36,500 and have $3,500 of dividends youll be over the $39,825 (in 2007"08) basic rate tax limit for a person aged under 65.

Dividends from stocks traded in foreign markets can be tough to deal with. You may have to convert dividend payments into sterling as well as account for them separately.

You need to fill out the foreign income pages of the self assessment form. The UK has double taxation agreements with most foreign countries. The effect of these agreements is to cap the tax due on foreign-sourced income so you are no worse off as a result of possibly being taxed twice.

Many stock market companies have schemes by which shareholders can opt to receive new shares to the value of their dividends rather a dividend cheque. Even if you choose this option, you still have to declare the value of the new shares and any balance carried forward in cash because it is not large enough to buy a share. Youre liable for tax on re-invested dividends in just the same way as a cash dividend.

Different Types of Mortgage for the Interested Homebuyers

By Greg Shuey

Getting a mortgage loan is necessary if you want to buy a home. But what mortgage home loan should you get? Different mortgage companies in Utah will show you the different types of mortgages. Study each type as well as its advantages and disadvantages to help you choose well.

Mortgages can be divided into two main groups: fixed-rate mortgages and adjustable-rate mortgages. As the name implies, fixed-rate mortgages have a fixed or constant interest rate, meaning your mortgage payments will not change regardless of what happens in the economy. Adjustable rates meanwhile are mortgages that fluctuate in the market. This means your monthly payments will vary depending on how interest rates perform in the market.

Mortgage companies in Utah can tell if a fixed-rate mortgage loan is more advantageous for you since your payments are fixed. There is no reason to worry about the economy slipping into another recession because you will still pay the same amount you've been paying from the start. The only catch here is that fixed-rate loans can be more expensive.

Adjustable-rate mortgages, on the other hand, depend on the fluctuations of interest rates in the market. One good thing here is that you can have lower interest rate payments. There is no certainty about how much you will be paying for your mortgage because it can either be high or low.The unfavorable scenario here is when rates perform really badly in the market during times of financial difficulties.

Want to know why fixed-rate loans are higher? It is because lenders need to be kept safe from paying for high interest rates. Because you have a fixed rate for the entire life of your loan, lenders need to have a safety net in case the rates suddenly go up. Since they cannot make you pay more than what you agreed to, they would have to shoulder it.

Adjustable-rates can go down if the economy does well. The unpredictable nature of adjustable-rate mortgages can make a homeowner suffer because one can never know when rates will suddenly go up.

Choosing between the two types involves a rather intensive weighing out process. My suggestion is you start by checking out the fixed rate products that are available in the market. Fixed rate loans are definitely the most popular and have the least amount of risk. Get an ample amount of fixed rate loan offers for comparison. Then compare these with ARM's and see if the risks weigh out the advantages.

The loan amount depends on your income. As a rule of thumb, look at 2 to 2 times of your current household income, and use this as a baseline to determine how much you can afford to borrow. Of course, your household expenses must also be crosschecked with your household income to determine which type of loan you will get. Check out with mortgage companies in Utah to know what type is best suited for you.

Can My Business Credit Card Impact My FICO Score?

By Peter Carville

A few late credit card payments can make all the difference between a good credit score and a rejected loan application - but what about if your employer is the one paying your credit card bills?

Most people understand that it's important to keep your credit score in the best possible shape, by paying your bills on time and keeping your ratio of debt versus available credit low. But corporate credit cards are often over-looked, and - according to Fair Issac Corporation (FICO) - they can actually impact your credit score the same way that personal cards can.

If you were required to sign up for a corporate credit card for work expenses, the activity on that card may or may not show up on your credit report, depending on the credit provider. If it does show up, then it will affect your score, simple as that.

You won't know if the activity is reported or not unless you check your credit score; you can check this for free once every twelve months at AnnualCreditReport.com.

Once you receive a copy of your credit report, check your revolving credit accounts, which is a list of every non-fixed credit facility you have, such as credit cards, store cards and any other line of credit.

If your corporate credit card is not listed, that means the activity on your card is not being reported each month. If your corporate card is listed, then your business spending and repayment patterns could have an impact on your FICO score.

How come this is so important? Consider this scenario: say you're late in lodging an expense claim with your boss, and your employer is then late in applying the payment to your corporate card. Therefore, a business lunch you paid for on April 5 doesn't get paid until June 1. Assume a similar situation takes place again the following month.

Meanwhile, in the first week of June, you travel out of town for a conference and charge 2,000 worth of accommodation and meal expenses to your card.

In the space of two months, your corporate credit card has experienced two late payments, and it currently has a higher debt-to-limit ratio. Consider, then, that this is the moment that you decide to apply for a car loan. You could be facing a higher interest rate, less flexible loan terms, or a lower loan amount - all because of your corporate credit card spending.

Also keep in mind that, normally, if an account becomes 6 months past due, all bets are off, and your credit card provider will then notify the credit bureaus of your delinquency, regardless of whether the card is business or personal.

Every credit provider has a different policy regarding how it manages credit reporting of business transactions, so check with your employer - or, better yet, your corporate credit card provider - to see what policy applies to you.

Use Accounting Software With Payroll Functions

By Cathy Howard

Applications that include payroll functionality can address a big part of payroll administration automatically, including matters like hourly remunerations, wages of employees, commissions and incentives. Payroll software will track information for tax covering purposes also.

While accounting software with payroll capabilities can be costly for some companies, it might not be the right one for your company. That's why business owners must do the proper research to ensure they get the software they need at the right price.

To ascertain which system is most beneficial for your company, look at the number of employees you have and anticipate to have while utilizing the software, what sort of functionality you want, and how significant it is to automatize your payroll system.

Once you've selected the software you need, take the necessary steps to properly implement the system so you can use it fully. Here are a few things to consider:

First off, check with sellers to determine if they have a test version of their software. Most of them will. Though Web sites and software packages will state what the software does, there is no better manner to understanding the software before buying it than by testing it out yourself. Honestly. would you purchase an automobile without test driving it?

Depending on the size and type of your company, you might find it useful to use a Web-based payroll program besides a desktop application. Online programs give users access to accounts regardless of where they are. This is good for smaller companies. If you have a huge business with numerous day by day dealings, you're in all probability better off with a desktop application because this is generally more powerful, faster, and can manage numerous data.

You cannot trust just give anybody the secret inner secrets of your business, especially when that individual is a virtual stranger whom you will not meet face to face and will normally only interact with online.

Of course, because it is an online service, you will eventually have to accept this as an attendant risk. Still, you should always make a decision based on security because you do not want your financial records revealed to your business rivals.

The service you hire must give you an ironclad non-disclosure agreement that ensures that it will never reveal your financial status to anybody. Even scammers can make this promise, of course. But a guaranteed method of verifying whether your service is as secure as it claims is to click around the Internet for what their clients have to say about their past dealings with the service.

Of course, those that have had their data stolen or leaked will have numerous complaints about the service both on the Internet and through word-of-mouth. Sometimes, blogs and online forums, especially ones about enterpreneurship will have their own insights on the service.

Risks aside, online accounting services are a money-saving method open to businesses that are still starting out and cannot maintain their accounting department yet. You will not have to pay for the office space and spend on computers and desks for dedicated accountants to balance your books. Your rental costs will be much less, so you can instead use the money to solicit the help of a cost-efficient online accounting service.

Do Prepaid Credit Cards Target The Poor

By Chris A Smith

Check cashing stores are feeling the bite as more and more of their customers are opting for prepaid debit cards to do their banking. For years the only financial service available to a large segment of the population that is not serviced by traditional banks, was to pay between 1.5% to a whopping 10% of their check simply to have it cashed. Now a new, more convenient and less expensive option is available thanks to the prepaid debit card.

Enter the prepaid debit card. Both Mastercard and Visa have prepaid debit programs that have significant advantages over the traditional check cashing shop. Probably the biggest advantage is not having to carry around cash. If you have just cashed your weekly or bi-weekly paycheck, what do you do with the cash? Carry it on you? Hide it someplace at home?

Gone are the days of standing in line at the check cashing store and leaving with a wad of money in your wallet. Debit cards can be funded by direct deposit or using one of thousands of retailers that will provide the servie. The card is the only thing you need to make purchases, pay bills or get cash.

While the debit card looks and shops like a credit card it isn't. The card's "limit" is the amount of money you put in the account. Because it is not a "credit card" there is no credit check and virtually everyone who applies is approved. Also, because there is no credit check, there is no inquiry on your credit report.

Without question, carrying a debit card is safer than carrying a large amount of cash. However, the consumer should not confuse their exposure to liability for a lost or fradulant use of the card with that of a credit card. In most states, you have 2 days to report a loss of a card or an unauthorized purchase or withdrawl. If you report this within two days your liability is limited to $50. If you report it after two days your liability is $500. If for some reason you don't discover the loss until after 60 days, then you are liable for any and all losses to your account.

So how is this different from credit card liability. The big difference is we are talking about someone taking money out of your bank account, not your account with a credit card. The bank can take up to 10 days to investigate and you are out that loss for at least that amount of time. Many of the debit card issuers offer free online statements. It would be wise to check them daily to insure your card has not been compromised.

So what do these cards cost? There is no one answer. All of them make money off of fees, both from the consumer and also off merchants who honor the card in their store. Some cards may encourage consumers to use their card like a credit card which creates a "signature purchase". While it is becoming rarer, there are still major chains that do not honor debit cards but will process them as a credit card if it's issued by Visa or Mastercard. This has no impact on the consumer, but the card issuer can charge substantially more to the merchant for processing a signature purchase. If you are looking at getting a debit card make sure you fully understand the terms and conditions an fee schedule.
